I'd have to disagree with the notion they're boring - I recently saw a group of 25 at the aquarium shop and they genuinely looked impressive. Having a large group of small ones in a spacious tank would be visually appealing.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of them in groups less than 8 - they seem a ...

Re: Caring for week-old fry
I've had success with both live and powdered food. If you're sticking with powder, try mixing it with tank water and using a pipette to target feed. Also, keep the tank bare-bottom for easier cleanup. How many fry are we talking?

Re: small aquarium setup
I ran a 10g tank and it did great, had a Fluval 3 filter and did 20% water changes weekly. My firefish and clownfish were thriving, no issues at all.

Re: stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
I'm aiming for a peaceful setup, and to be honest, the hawkfish was my least favourite on the list, so I'm not too fussed about leaving it out.
I'm looking for small fish that are happy to hang out in the open. My clowns do, but only when it's feeding time, otherwise they're hiding around the ...

Re: stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
I had a bi-colour angel, they're a pretty sensitive species, even for dwarf angels. Mine was a coflake fanatic and just suddenly kicked the bucket, had to return it to the shop. They often develop a taste for coflakes too. If I'm being honest, coflake beauties are probably the most reef-safe ...

Re: stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
Ooh, I really like those suggestions. I'm curious, would a bi colour angel be suitable for a 30 gallon tank? Considering my current stock and the fish I'm thinking of adding, I'm wondering if it would be too much.

Re: stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
I'm considering any peaceful fish for my tank, really. Saw a clown goby at ADC, thought it was lovely, but left it. The store was a bit of a letdown, to be honest. Staff weren't exactly welcoming either.
Looking for other goby suggestions, if anyone has any?

Re: stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
My tank's been up and running for a few weeks now, and after the water change, it's looking even more crystal clear - love it. All the tests are coming back great, and the clowns are thriving, eating everything in sight. The tank's running smoothly, so that's a big plus. Tomorrow, I'm off to the pet ...

stocking a 30 gallon aquarium
I'm considering adding some new fish to my tank, I've got 2 happy ocellaris clowns at the moment. They're really active, so I want something that'll complement them well. I was thinking maybe a purple firefish, I've always liked the way they look. Not entirely sure what the final stocking will be ...

Re: keeping triggerfish with other species
I checked out the pet shop yesterday and they've really expanded their marine section - they've got seahorses, darterfish, clowns, damsels, lionfish, tangs, and triggers, so I know I've got a good place to get some fish from when I start stocking. They're the only shop that gives good advice and ...
