Re: Palythoa grandis care tips
My Palythoa grandis isn't opening fully since I moved it to a new tank. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate, 8.2 pH. Running a 75-gallon with two AI Primes, 12 hours light cycle. Any tips?
How old is the tank? New tanks can stress them out. Mine took weeks to adjust after a ...

Re: betta tank decoration ideas
That's a solid idea! I've also used PVC pipes wrapped in moss for a more natural look. Works like a charm.crafty_8one wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 2:18 am If you're into DIY, you can make caves from terracotta pots. Just sand the edges smooth. My betta's all about his lil' hideout, and it's cheap as heck.

Re: Clown knife fish help
Thanks for the advice, everyone. I'll try the bloodworms and dim the lights. pH is 7.2, so I'll look into lowering it slightly. Tankmates are just some tetras, so no bullies there.

Clown knife fish help
I just got a Clown Knife Fish and it's acting super sketchy. It's in a 125 gallon tank with a Fluval FX6, sand substrate, and some driftwood. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate. Temp is 78F. It's not eating the Hikari carnivore pellets I dropped in. Any tips?

Re: is a 20g tank suitable for a sorority?
Honestly, I think this setup wouldn't be ideal for a sorority. The main issue is the lack of plants to break the line of sight. You'd want a lot of tall and floating plants to minimize aggression between the females. These plants would serve as visual barriers, preventing the females from constantly ...

Re: Betta fin loss assistance needed
It definitely looks like fin rot to me. Can you tell me more about your tank setup - what's the size and how often do you do water changes? Also, what are your current water parameters? If you get those things dialed in, his colors should start to pop once he's in ideal conditions.

Re: Can betta fish live with shrimp?
I've been thinking about keeping a male betta with some cherry shrimp, but I'm worried he'll see them as food or I'll need a massive tank. I recently picked up a few cherry shrimp and decided to try one in my betta tank - the other three went in my main tank. The betta went after the shrimp right ...

Re: Can betta fish live with shrimp?
It's possible, but the betta's personality plays a huge role since they're naturally predatory. Yours seems to prefer being alone, which is pretty typical for a betta. On a side note, the top layers of his tank are looking a bit bare. I'd suggest adding some taller plants, floating plants, or a ...

Re: Having trouble keeping him healthy
Diamond eye is pretty common in fluxeon scale bettas. The condition's gonna cause blindness, but lots of fish with it live long lives. Since he's got it, I'd say just keep things consistent - don't change his decor, and feed him in the same spot, maybe even give him a signal to let him know it's ...

Re: Having trouble keeping him healthy
I'm pretty sure he's got diamond eye, where the scales grow over the betta's eyes and it's basically incurable.
