Re: choosing the right fish for my aquarium
I've got a victorkento4 with my Malawis, specifically a Nyeri, but to be honest, it's been a nightmare as it's grown. I'm actually looking to rehome it as soon as possible - it was never meant to be in that tank in the first place. I also have a female Brownae, but she's a bit of an exception, only ...

Re: seeking additional fish
How about finding a couple of Gurnards or Flying Gurnards? They're reef safe, but just a heads up, they'll probably snack on small shrimps and the like. They can get a decent size and honestly, they're just hilarious to watch, wee beasties!

Honestly, a gravel vacuum. Sounds dumb but I skipped it my first time and regretted it hard when the substrate got nasty. Got a Python one now, way easier than scooping crap out with a cup.

Re: selecting your top marine fish
I'm having a tough time narrowing it down, so here are my top favorites.
First off, I have to mention the Volitans/Radiata lionfish – their unique appearance really draws me in. The Dogface Puffer is another favorite, with a personality that's just as quirky as its looks. I'm also fascinated by ...

Honestly, I gotta say, your tank setup doesn't sound ideal for Malawis. I know loads of people keep them in community tanks, but it's not really fair on the fish, is it?

Re: Hammer coral care and feeding
It looks like it's not opening up all the way, and the polyps seem kinda shrunk. Is that normal or is something off?

I've uploaded the pic - you can see the haze is from an algae bloom I'm dealing with.
