Yikes, that's a sketchy move. But hey, your fish might just chill if the tap water wasn't too gnarly. Did you test the water yet? My bet is the Discus are gonna throw a fit if there's chlorine.


Just tested, ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10 ppm. No signs of stress in the fish yet. Gonna ...

It's probably either disoriented from the whole ordeal or just didn't care about the diver's affection.

You could try making small mounds around each plant to cover the exposed roots, then occasionally, when doing maintenance, gently coax them back down. With time, they might settle in and behave as you'd like.

I'm not aware that the roots will ever pull the plant down into the substrate - they tend to stay exposed like that and if anything, they just keep growing and pushing upwards over time.

I'm finding the api kit a bit of a hassle to work with, what with filling and standing the tubes up.

I've drafted a new design, gonna make a proper one, and I'll be adding a syringe holder too.
All the holders will be made to a pro standard, and I'll make sure they're all sanded down properly ...
