A 5-gallon tank is the bare minimum for a betta, but if you can go bigger, do it. They thrive in larger spaces, and a 10-gallon gives them more room to explore. Just make sure it's heated and filtered.

I'm not sure about using a breeding trap just yet, but if you do decide to move them, could you use a plastic container or something to scoop them up with some water, that way you're not netting them. I've never bred kribs before, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to leave the fry with the parents ...
