Re: Marine ich issues and treatment
It depends on the type, there are a few different parasitic varieties of marine whitespot. Maybe the name you're thinking of is Oodinium or Amyloodinium - either way, the treatment is the same. You'd need to do a QT, and you've got two options: hyposalinity at 1.009sg, or copper at 0.20-0.30ppm ...

Re: Marine ich issues and treatment
I'm familiar with marine ich, and I was curious about the specific term when I saw your topic. I'm pretty sure it's got a distinct name... I just can't put my finger on it right now. I'll probably be up late trying to figure it out, anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Alternatively, you could try searching online for some great resources. There's a wealth of information out there, and some fantastic communities dedicated to African cichlids.

Re: Identifying torch coral species
In the UK, we actually refer to them as 'Aussie Yellow Tipped Gold'. To keep the colour looking its best, I've found it's best to keep the lighting and flow on the lower side.

Re: keeping kribensis
I can only draw parallels with the behaviour of fish I've personally kept. Unfortunately, many of the ones you've inquired about aren't even available in my region, so I'm afraid I won't be much help.

Re: keeping kribensis
That "shimmying" you've described is quite telling, it's a great way to gauge their interest in each other. There's definitely some courtship going on, and it's lovely to see. By the way, your photos are excellent, really capturing their behavior.

I've had my elegance coral for over two years now and it's been doing great, I've never had any issues with it.

Re: Goniopora care and troubleshooting
I've got a trio of gonioporas - red, green, and purple - and they're all doing pretty well, especially that purple one. I did notice a change in the red one, though. It started when I began dosing vodka. The polyps were really retracted and didn't look too great. Stopped the vodka and decided to ...

Re: Help with frogspawn coral care
One thing to consider with frogspawns is they tend to get jostled around in the bag during transport, which can cause damage to the flesh and lead to recession. Keeping it out of direct flow might help it recover, so the spot you've got it in sounds like a good choice.
