Re: breeding betta fish

@daintree, I'd be happy to walk you through the process of breeding betta. First off, you'll want to set up a separate breeding tank with plenty of plants and a heater to keep the water at around 82-85°F.

As for the bubble nest, that's a great sign, but you'll want to make sure the water quality ...

@oceanway, 5 males, huh. Pointed fins, that's a good call.

Re: A home for my betta fish

You've put in the effort and it shows. I think you'd be a strong contender in the next TOTM contest, especially with tanks #2 and #3. Good luck if you decide to enter!

"Trust the experts" - nope, I'm kidding. Honestly, I'm clueless when it comes to betta sorority tanks, so thanks for the insight @Deanasue.

Re: A home for my betta fish

Wow, those tanks are stunning.

I'm absolutely in love with Tank #2 - it's my absolute favorite.

Tank #1 is beautifully set up, I think it's perfect just the way it is.

Tank #2, as I mentioned, is also flawless.

Tank #3 is another perfect setup - you've done a great job.

Tank #4 is lovely ...

Re: assistance with a friend's betta

Hey everyone,
I have a friend with a 4-year-old fin_tank in a 5-gallon planted tank, and I'm hoping for some advice. A few weeks ago, he developed this tumor on his side, and now his owner thinks he might have a fungal infection too. His head's got some weird texture going on - I'll try to show ...

Re: assistance with a friend's betta

Looks like a tumor, fungal infection, fin rot, and possibly popeye.

Honestly, it doesn't look great for your friend's fish. I'm going to be upfront about it.

Can you tell me more about the tank maintenance? How often does your friend clean the tank, and what are the water parameters like? Also ...

Re: appreciation for betta fish

So this is like a "Betta of the month" thing. I'm in. Here's my guy.

Name: Blaze
Size: About 2.5 in.
Age: Around 2 years old
Breed: Super Delta Tail/Dumbo Ear Male Betta Fish

Here's his pic:

I know he doesn't look super cute in pictures, but trust me, his personality is adorable. When I feed him ...

Re: Betta fish dying suddenly

My female betta's not doing great and I'm worried she's on her way out. She's hiding at the bottom of my tank, near the corner, making it hard for me to get a good look at her. I did manage to catch a glimpse of her abdomen area when she swam by, and it's pretty swollen. She's still eating, but I ...
