breeders' guide to green terror cichlids
breeders' guide to green terror cichlids
I've got a green terror in my tank, had it for a while, and I'm pretty sure it's a male. I added two new ones recently and I think one of the new ones is a female. The male keeps going over to this one female and shaking his tail super fast, like having a fit or something. He's also chasing the other new one away, I'm guessing this is some kind of breeding behaviour?

Re: breeders' guide to green terror cichlids
I've always been drawn to the phenotype of green terrors, but their aggression can be a real challenge. I had a large group of them in the past and even kept them outdoors for a time. Eventually, I sold the entire colony to a buyer from Germany. What struck me was how quickly the aggression started, even among young fish - they'd attack each other without hesitation. I had so many that I struggled to find a buyer, as local stores were well aware of their reputation for aggression. It wasn't until a friend put me in touch with this German buyer that I was able to find a new home for them, and even then, I had to offer a very low price and the condition that he'd catch them all himself.
