choosing a name for my betta
choosing a name for my betta
I just brought home this gorgeous deep red male crowntail betta two days ago and I'm stuck on what to name him - been calling him "my fishie" which, let's be real, is super lame haha. I'd love to hear any name suggestions you guys might have. I wish I could share a clear pic of him, but I'm having some trouble getting a good shot - I did find a photo of a betta that looks almost identical to mine, though.

Would love to see a pic of your betta, even if it's not the best quality.
Re: choosing a name for my betta
Here are a few name ideas for your betta: Vortex, Ketchup, or maybe something a bit more quirky like Magikarp or Shushi. You could also go for something a bit more playful like James Pond or Tarter Sauce - see if any of these stand out to you.

Geflaket, Frodo - that's a decent combo.
Re: choosing a name for my betta
How about Scarlet or Emperor, both seem fitting for a deep red betta.

I used to call mine 'Pretty little Fishy' so 'my fishie' doesn't sound so bad after all
Re: choosing a name for my betta
call him "Chief" - he's got that whole Native American headdress vibe goin' on, just like an Indian chief, lol

Hhhmnnn,
Agni, the Hindu fire deity, comes to mind - a fitting name for a fiery betta.
Elmo's a cute reference to St. Elmo's fire, don't you think?
Fiero's another option, it's short and snappy.
Ganesha, the Hindu god, is also a great choice - he's often associated with the color red, after all.
I have to admit, I'm drawing inspiration from my past betta, Joe "Joey" Sparks - he was a beautiful red betta, and I still miss him.
Sparky, Sparks, and Sparkaliscious are all variations of his name, but I just couldn't help myself.
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in choosing a name for your new betta - I'm sure you'll find the perfect one.
