Torch or hammer coral identification
Sold as Gold tipped Torch, no idea if that's correct though.

I'm with felinxo on this, looks like a hammer to me. The tips are a dead giveaway.

Those aren't anchor coral (E.ancora), OP's got an actual hammer coral, E.parancora.

Re: Torch or hammer coral identification
It's an actual hammer coral, folks. We coined these names to help with identification in the trade. I mean, nobody refers to a wall as an anchor coral, right? Some Aussie species even have more of a hammer head, if you can picture that. Clearly, he's got a parancora, which we commonly call a branching hammer.

Great point felinxo. I think we're on the same page here. One's branching, the other's wall, but at the end of the day, we've got our answer - it's a hammer.
These links might be helpful for anyone looking for more info:
Wall Hammer
Branching Hammer
Cheers.

Re: Torch or hammer coral identification
I've found that relying on common names can be pretty hit or miss, given how much variation there is from one place to another. That's why I started looking into Latin names - they just give a clearer picture. No offense meant by trying to be precise.

No need to apologize, accuracy is key. It's indeed Euphyllia parancora, as I mentioned earlier.
