Optimal iron and manganese dosing for goniopora
I've been adding a single drop of Kent iron/manganese daily to my SPS reef tank for ages. Never really bothered with the instructions, figuring a drop in 80 gallons with all that coral and chaeto would be more than sufficient. But then my buddy's Gonioporas started shrinking in his 220-gallon tank, so I suggested he try dosing some Fe/Mn. That's when I actually read the instructions - a teaspoon per 50 gallons, twice a week. That's a huge difference. Do any of you guys dose that aggressively for your Gonnies? I'd love to hear about your experiences.

I've got the Kent Fe/Mn stuff too. Haven't dosed in a couple months, actually. My gonis seem to be doing alright. When I do dose, I'm only doing about 3mL per week in my 15G.

I actually read the instructions and now I'm wondering if I've been underdosing the whole time.

I don't dose separately, my regular water changes cover it.

haha, looks like some of you guys are way more responsible with the Kent Fe/Mn than I am, lol. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that tsp per 50 gallons twice a week, seems crazy. Glad to hear some of you are getting away with less, flynix's 3mL in 15G per week sounds way more reasonable. copperkit, you're a saint for following the instructions, I'm more of a "close enough" kind of guy
