Discussion about lilly

Post by coltin »

We've got canna lilies thriving in Perth's wetlands, but they outgrow the average aquarium and only spend a few months in shallow water, the rest of the time they're sitting in dry sand. They should technically be safe, but I think they just get too large for a standard tank. Any fully submerged leaves will likely rot.

I agree with coltin, canna lilies aren't the best choice for aquariums. They're similar to irises that grow in marshy areas - the leaves and flowers need to be above the water surface to thrive. Submerged leaves will likely rot, which can lead to water pollution and potentially harm or even kill fish.
