That's duckweed, Lyuba. Grows incredibly fast, barely any effort needed. It'll cover the top of your tank in no time. Looks nice, in my opinion.

I feed all my Bettas twice a day, 3 pellets in the morning, 2 at night.

Boris is just like the rest, always hungry, eats everything, never leaves leftovers. Yep, that's every Betta, young or old, pigs when it comes to food, shameless beggars. I worry if one of my Bettas isn't begging for food.

As for duckweed, I doubt your Betta could eat enough to make a difference. Bettas can eat plants, but it's not like they're going to clear out a whole patch of duckweed in a day.

While Bettas can and do eat plants, I doubt yours could eat enough duckweed to make a difference. For those who haven't seen a Betta eat plants, it's quite something. I've got a video of one of mine munching away.

By the way, I think my tank's doing alright - lots of plants, and my Bettas love 'em. Don't worry about them killing each other, they're all separate. I've tried feeding them canned peaches, they go wild for 'em. I think your duckweed probably got sucked into the filter, try washing it in tank water and see how that goes.
