Hi fellow betta enthusiasts,
Thanks for sharing your cross breeding question. My goal is to create a crowntail with a short tail. What's the best approach? Is this good for my betta's genetics? Thanks again.
Regards,

Re: breeding across different species
Hi and welcome to the forum.
The work of many years by Betta breeders worldwide, developing fish with those stunning long fins, will be undone if you cross a short fin with a long fin.
Most breeders stick to long fin with long fin and short fin with short fin to preserve the fancy fins and tails. If you do decide to breed a short fin with a long fin, you'll likely end up with varying fin lengths - short, long, or medium.
