Keeping female kribs in a 29 gallon tank

I'm looking for some opinions on keeping only female kribs in my 29G tank. I'm not looking to breed, I just love these fish. Since I won't have any other fish in the tank, I was thinking the females would be a good choice due to their smaller size. This got me wondering if I could keep a few more females in the tank without overdoing it. Also, would it be possible to mix different colored species of female kribs? My tank has plenty of aquascaping with driftwood, caves, and plants.
