Duncan coral health issues
My duncan coral's got brown spots and markings now. Had a gobi fish in the tank, and I couldn't find him for days - that's nothing new, he hides a lot. But since my duncan's started spotting, I'm worried. What should I do to help it?

It looks bleached to me. I think moving it to the bottom, where the current's not too strong, might help. Medium current should be alright.

The brown spots are kinda weird, they're like patches on it. When it's open, I notice a greenish tint, pretty subtle though.

Similar thoughts here - novice with corals, but my Duncan's doing alright. Ever think of giving it another dip, maybe with Bayer Complete?

Unless pest-related, Bayer won't be the solution here. Lowering the light and reducing flow might be a better approach.

Honestly not sure what's causing the brown spots, but I'm guessing it's related to overexposure. Like others said, it's pretty bleached out and needs a lower light spot. What's your current lighting setup and how far down in the tank is the coral?

I'm running 6 T5s - 2 of them are 22k actinics, 1's a pink, and the other 3 are 12k blue whites. He's positioned about midway in the tank. I've got the lights on for 10 hours a day, is that too much? Should I move him down to the bottom like you guys suggested?

Bleached coral needs to be moved down, into low light. Zooxanthellae are lacking, so more light isn't going to help. Spot feeding will be necessary to get it back on track, but relocating it should be the first step.
Running all six lights for 10 hours straight seems excessive, especially considering the potential tank size.

I found a similar issue on another site, about 2/3 down the page - someone's Dendro had the same problem. The solution they suggested was to move the coral to a acclimation/receiving system for a week or two.
