Just wondering, how's everyone's acan growth rate? Mine seem okay, but I'm not sure if they're normal or on the slower side.
Here are some pics for comparison - this one's from when I first got it on 7/19/2014, and this one's from today, 12/31/2014.

I'd say 5 months and tripling in size is a pretty decent growth rate.

Seems like we're on the same page with growth rates. Those massive colonies with 100+ heads are pricey for a reason. Your frags look great, by the way.

I've had my acan for about 10 months now. Here's a comparison of its growth from Feb to Dec 2014.

I've noticed that direct feeding seems to boost their growth rate. On the other hand, if you don't feed them directly, growth appears to be slower.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I don't feed my acans directly. Instead, I mix in some oyster feast when I'm feeding my fish every couple of days, and I put my mp10 on feed mode. Bpcardona, what lighting setup are you using? Those frags of yours look great, by the way.

Do placement on rock vs sand bed make a difference in growth rate?

They'll spread out better on rocks, but on the sand bed, they tend to grow into a ball - that's what I've gathered, anyway.

They were under 4 T5s in the frag tank and 8 T5s in the display tank. I just recently added a reefbrite XHO and the colors really bring them out now.
