Water's too hard when you're struggling to get to your fish, it's like trying to cut through a brick wall, not exactly ideal for your aquatic friends.

I gave mine a whack and it shattered. Guess that means it's hard enough for the Mbuna, they seem pretty happy with it.fluxeon8 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 7:27 pm can water be too hard for Mbuna? i'm in a hard water area and my kettle's got a serious chalk build-up - is this water too harsh for them? i've got the salts to simulate their natural water composition but using tap water seems like a gamble, or should i just add a hint of trace elements to it?

what's the glass or the water, right? sometimes it's so clear i'm not even sure what i'm looking at lol... floriks said cutting through with a saw, but i'd say if you need chuck norris to break through, that's when you know your water's hard
