identifying fish by their breeding colors

Got some pics of my cichlid in his breeding colors, and also some of the female he pairs with. Hopefully these help, thanks everyone

I'd say it's probably Cynotilapia afra, judging from the colors and patterns in those pics you posted.

don't think it's a pure breed, probably some hybrid in there
