If you've had a similar experience with this company, I encourage you to share your story and post some pics on this thread: http://forum.simplydiscus.com/forumd...estock-Reviews. I wish I had known about their shipping practices before ordering from them.

Re: Intelligent Wonderous Discus!

Yay, the Snow White Juvie is swimming around now and way more active than the others. She's still a bit off, but I think she's over the worst. Now I'm worried about the dark Alenquer - he's got tremors and is dark most of the time, only lightening up for a short while. I've read that tremors are a sign of a highly stressed Discus, so I'm trying to keep a low profile and keep the lighting down.

I'm itching to do a water change, but I'm hesitant in case it puts him over the edge. Any advice would be a huge help. I've noticed that stress bars can be a better indicator of stress in Alenquers than their overall color, in my opinion. If the fish is eating, that's a good sign, but I'm still keeping a close eye out for any other signs of trouble.

Re: Intelligent Wonderous Discus!

Liz, your insight about Alenquers is a huge relief. I was worried sick about my dark Alenquer, but now I understand that they can come in different shades. What threw me off, though, was the other Alenquer being the same size yet many shades lighter. It's like they're two different fish.

It's been five days since I got them, and I'm still struggling to get them to eat. The Melon juvie is the only one showing some interest, but the others just aren't having it. I've tried all sorts of food, from flakes to pellets, and even some beef heart. The lighter Alenquer did show some interest in the beef heart, but it just nudged it to the corner and left it there. I'm starting to get worried that they'll never recover from their ordeal.

So, you wanna know about my tank. It's a 55g. Temp is at 82. I've done a few tests, and all seems good. I did a water change since getting them, but I'm worried about doing another one with the dark Alenquer being so stressed. Pictures, yeah, I'll try to post some.
