is this a fan shrimp goby?
is this a fan shrimp goby?
Is that a fan shrimp goby, I was wondering?
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
Honestly, this fish doesn't quite look right to me. I found a link that might help you identify it - check out http/www.wetwebmedia.com/shrimpgobies.htm.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
Thanks for the link, it seems to match Amblyeleotris periophthalma the most, but it's missing the distinct barring. By the way, its dorsal got nipped by my over-zealous six line wrasse when I turned on the lights this morning - that's why it looks a bit off. Thankfully, the wrasse has lost interest now. It was sold to me as a fusi goby, but I'm pretty sure that's not what it is.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
six lines can be right little bullies, can't they
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
I think they get a bad rep, but my six line's a sweetheart, lovely to watch and full of character. The goby's found a safe haven in my rockwork now, so the six line can't bother him anymore.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
I've had Eric for a short while now, just got him and he's already settling in nicely after that little encounter with the six line wrasse.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
I've had him for about six months now, he's been a great addition to the tank.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
Just had to share - know someone with a six line who swore it'd be a tankmate for life, loved its spunk. Fast forward a couple years, and it's now public enemy number one - can't add anything new without it turning into the tank's resident bully.
Re: is this a fan shrimp goby?
My tank's only 90l, just 2 clowns and the 6 line in there, I'm not planning on adding more fish so I think I'll be alright.
