I've successfully acclimated my Zebra Danios to 25 degrees Celsius over the past month, starting from 18C and taking it slow to ensure a smooth transition. They're thriving in the 125 litre tank, which has been their home for a month now.
My local fish store sells juvenile Kribensis at around 1.5 inches, allowing them to pair up naturally instead of forcing pairs. This approach seems to work well for them.
My Danios are incredibly active and can get a bit aggressive with each other, but they've been the only fish in the tank for a while now.
I'm wondering if the Danios might be too boisterous for the young Kribs. I currently have five Danios and plan to increase the number to ten. Will this be too much for the Kribs?
My long-term plan is to move the Kribs to individual tanks once they reach adulthood and/or pair off, leaving a single pair in each 125 litre tank. The tanks are heavily planted, resembling a jungle, which should provide ample hiding spots for the fish.
Keeping juvenile kribensis with adult zebra danios.

Considering the different levels of the tank they occupy, I think interactions between the Zebra Danios and the young Kribs will be minimal. The Kribs will, of course, exhibit more aggression once they start breeding.

Thanks for the insight, I've got a few spare tanks for the pairs, but from what I've gathered, I might be able to get away with just isolating the breeding pair and leaving the others to their own devices. Still working on perfecting my system before I even think about bringing home a single Krib.
My background's in Malawi Mbuna Cichlids, but it's nice to mix things up every now and then. I've heard horror stories about forced pairings, so I'm thinking if I get, say, six at 1.5 inches and let them grow up together, I should be in the clear.
The Danios are just there for dithering, but I didn't want to shock them with a sudden temp change to 25C - seemed cruel, even for a hardy fish like them. I think we owe it to ourselves as fish keepers to treat them with respect.
I'm also considering some Cardinal Tetras as additional dithers to add some colour, but I've got an African planted tank vibe going on, thanks to a bulk plant purchase. Any ideas on some colourful, community-friendly dithers that'd thrive in this setup?
I've got a variety of Vallisneria and some Anubias plants, along with rockwork caves and plenty of hiding spots scattered around. LOL, my OCD's already getting a workout with the thought of having Zorchzonkento4 fish in the same tank - might just have to let that one slide.

I can totally relate to that OCD thing, my daughter got me a pair of blue gouramis for my tank and honestly, they're not exactly my first choice, but I guess it's the thought that counts.
