Hi, thanks for the compliment on my tank. I've got a few, to be honest - 10 in total.

Hello wandg, I've learned a thing or two about this hobby - every tank is unique. Smaller tanks require different care, and in my experience, they're more high-maintenance than larger ones. I personally don't feel comfortable keeping anything under 45 gallons, the water chemistry just isn't stable enough for my liking. I've found it's a challenge to keep fish and other aquatic life healthy in smaller tanks.

I started with small tanks to learn the ropes and didn't have the budget for larger ones. Now I'm working my way up. A well-cycled small tank isn't hard to maintain, in my experience. As long as you do large and frequent water exchanges, you can keep ammonia and nitrite levels at zero. My nitrate levels are stable, around 30 ppm, which is what's in my tap water.
