local fish stocking information
Re: local fish stocking information
Chevron tangs - lovely fish, but I'm not sure about adding another tang to the mix, had thought about a kole tang, but chevrons are definitely on the radar now, just need to think about how they'll get on with the others.

Always thought a trio of lamarck angels would be amazing. Or, a harem of dwarf angels, that's something I've always wanted to try - could be really cool
Re: local fish stocking information
Pair of blue throat triggers, they're reef safe and invert safe too.
Re: local fish stocking information
Thanks for all the suggestions, loads to look at. We saw a leopard wrasse at the LFS and it's really nice - I'm a bit concerned about them being tricky to keep fed though and their long-term survival rate.
Despite my initial reservations about chromis, Lyn fell in love with them at the LFS - she put her finger on the tank and they all swam up to her, so it looks like we'll be getting some blue-green chromis once my 8-week fallow period is up. I must admit, they did look amazing in a large shoal, so we'll probably get 9 or 10 - I'm thinking it'll be a great addition to the tank.

I totally get why Lyn fell for them, they do look amazing in a big group. However, I think it's worth considering that as they mature, you might start to see some issues.brunobear wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:36 am Our tank's a Jewel Vision 450, roughly 100g UK, paired with a 75G sump, so around 50g water volume. It's 5ft long, 2ft high, and 2-2.5ft wide at the front.
We're pretty open to ideas, just need fish that are 100% reef safe and suitable for this tank size when fully grown - no upgrades on the horizon.
Current crew:
- 1 lyretail anthias
- 1 perc clow
- 1 purple firtideflow
- 1 royal gramma
Some fish I've been considering:
- A juv black and white clown to pair with the perc
- Flasher and fairy wrasses - I think multiple wrasses can coexist without too much trouble, but need to dig deeper
- A madarin, but only when I've got a lot more live rock and a solid pod population
- A kole tang
- Yellow tang(s) - apparently you can keep a small group in a big enough tank, but I'm still looking for a clear answer on what 'big enough' means for 2-3 tangs.
Any suggestions for a fish stocking list?
