I'm still weighing my options and would love to hear your thoughts on this.
My current tank is pretty simple - just my percula clownfish and two yasha gobies. That's it. I've been considering adding a male and female flasher wrasse, which would be amazing. From what I've read, they supposedly top out at around 3 inches, but I've also come across some sites that say they require multiple feedings daily.
I'd really appreciate any feedback you can offer.
Considering adding a blue flasher wrasse to my 29-gallon aquarium

I think that's a great idea, only issue I've come across is finding females in the UK - not sure about your side though. You'll need a harem, Kj, so at least two females would be a good start.

In the US, we can get hold of males and juveniles, though.

I'm on the fence about dedicating three spots to one species, it's a tough call. I'm starting to think that maybe I should just upgrade to a 90g and turn this one into a sump - Ben did say I'd end up doing that with my 29g eventually, haha.

I'm actually considering a 90 AGA tank, and it comes with a stand - the kicker is it's got 2 metal halide lights, 150w each. Found it for $500, or I can get just the tank and stand for $300. What are your thoughts on this?

Another one for ski, I reckon - not familiar with it, though.flame9x wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 4:34 am I'm still weighing my options and would love to hear your thoughts on this.

AGA stands for All Glass Aquarium, a brand mainly found here in the States, I think. I'm currently scrounging around the house to see what I can sell for some extra cash to put towards tank gear. I've got two Eheim Pro II 2028 canister filters with a bunch of filter media, all of which is brand new except for the filters themselves. New, this stuff retails for around $700. I'm hoping to get maybe half that - does that sound about right?
Re: Considering adding a blue flasher wrasse to my 29-gallon aquarium
I'd be willing to make a deal on the tank setup - $500 for everything or $300 for just the tank and stand. I'd also include a decent amount of IO salt, about 250 gallons worth.
The lighting system is actually a Nova Extreme T5 setup, with six 54W bulbs - I've found T5s to be much cooler running compared to halides. It's a reef-ready setup, complete with the megaflow kit. I'll grab some pics and send them over, but keep in mind the tank's a bit dirty at the moment since I'm in the process of tearing it down. I'd make sure to have everything cleaned up for you, though.

I think a trio of wrasses would be the way to go, that way the male wouldn't get picked on too much by the female, she'd have some other ladies to focus on instead.
