Baking soda can work, but vinegar is more effective for chemical residues. It's also safer for the tank environment.

Just wanted to add that you should avoid using any soap-based cleaners in the future. They're a nightmare to rinse out completely.

Totally agree. Stick to aquarium-safe cleaners or just hot water and elbow grease.

If you're still worried about residue, consider running a polyfilter in your filter. It's designed to remove a wide range of contaminants.
