I'm kinda new to this, but I've heard that adding more plants can help with water quality. Is that true? Also, what's the deal with CO2? Is it really necessary?

More plants can definitely help with water quality by absorbing nitrates. CO2 isn't strictly necessary, but it can boost plant growth significantly. Start with easy plants first, then consider CO2 if you want faster growth.

Another thing to consider is your filtration. A canister filter can give you more options for media and improve water flow. What kind of filter are you running now?

Dude, if you're still using a HOB, it's time to upgrade. Canisters are where it's at. More media, better flow, and way quieter. Plus, you can hide all the ugly stuff in the cabinet.

Don't forget about the little things too. A good water conditioner, a reliable heater, and a quality test kit can make a big difference in maintaining a healthy tank. It's all about the details.
