stocking a 46-gallon aquarium

Post by Lumina42 »

I'm new to saltwater aquariums and I'm curious about stocking options for my 46g tank - can anyone suggest some suitable species

I don't have a ton of experience with saltwater tanks, but I've always thought clownfish would be a great choice for a tank like yours.

You could keep clownfish as they're a popular choice for smaller tanks. Gobies might also work well, they're pretty versatile. I'm not convinced a tang would be a good fit for a 46g tank, though - they tend to need more space. Adding some hermit crabs, a tuxedo urchin, and some peppermint shrimp or other cleaner shrimp could help with cleanup. Snails could also be a good option. I'm not sure about triggerfish, but it's worth looking into.
