introducing mbuna to a hap and peacock community

Post by rockshore »

Looking to add some new blood to my tank, 75 gallons, all-male Peacock/hap setup with a lone Victoria and a blue Acara. Been thinking of introducing a Mbuna or two, but I know they can get feisty. My current crew ranges from 4 to 5.5 inches, and after a selective culling, I'm down from 9 to 6 fish. Need some more soldiers in the kingdom, you know? I've got my eye on the Chewere and Afra Hara, both around 3 inches. Figure the size difference will help balance out their aggression towards my haps and Peacocks. I'm keeping my fish size capped at 7 inches, and ideally, I'd like my Mbunas to reach 5 inches, but they're not easy to find at that size. Anyone had success with this setup?
