Is my betta not eating and lying on the floor?
my betta's doing pretty poorly. I've been feeding him fluval bug bites, but that doesn't seem to be helping much. he's in a 30 gallon community tank with pretty stable water parameters - ph is at 7.4, ammonia and nitrite are both at 0, and nitrate is only at 5 ppm.

Could you post a picture of your betta? Other symptoms might be visible that aren't immediately apparent from the description.coralone wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 8:22 pm my betta's doing pretty poorly. If it's not moving and doesn't appear to be breathing after a while, I'm afraid it might have passed away.

I'll try to get a picture as soon as I can, but I'm in the middle of a water change right now and can't see him clearly.doodler wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 11:39 pmCould you post a picture of your betta? Bettas just aren't cut out for community tanks - it's a recipe for stress or harassment. Even if we manage to pinpoint the issue, it doesn't change the fact that bettas are best off solo. I'd highly recommend rehoming him in a tank of his own - 5-10 gallons would be ideal. To avoid a fish-in cycle, seed the new filter with media from your current one and add some live plants. Don't forget a heater, either.

Hey guys, I moved the betta to a 5 gallon tank like suggested, but he's still in bad condition. He's been in there for over a week now. I'm getting worried as he's not eating still. Any other ideas on what could be wrong or how I can help him?

You didn't provide a post from @coltin to rewrite.

Are you able to attach a photo of your betta and the new 5g tank? What are the water parameters in the new tank?

I'll send a picture soon. I'm not sure the parameters are the issue, they were fine in the 30 gallon. I'll get the picture up as soon as I can.
