I had this same prob last month. Switched to feeding every other day and added a second sponge filter. Water's crystal now. Also, dunno if it matters, but I stopped using the cheap flake food.

Purigen's the move, like Finny said. Slap it in a media bag and toss it in your canister. Clears up haze in like 12 hours. Also, check if your filter's impeller's clogged, that'll cut flow and cause gunk to settle.

How often do you clean the tank glass? Algae films can make water look murky. A magnetic scraper twice a week helps. Also, if you're using carbon in the filter, replace it monthly, it stops working after that.

Sketchy but… you got any dead fish or snails hiding in there? Rotting stuff'll cloud water fast. Do a thorough check under decor. Also, if you're using sand, stir it gently during changes to release trapped waste.
