information about clownfish

Post by ravenoak »

I've been wondering about this for a bit now - my clown pair always seem to swim at the back corner at the top of the water at night. everybody else is resting except the clownfish. Is this normal behavior for them?

Glad to hear that's just their thing.

I've seen the same behavior in my own tank, my clown pair tends to hover near the surface at the back once the lights go out, seems to be a pretty common thing with these guys.

My clown often likes to rest in a 45-degree angle at the surface, which I've found is quite normal for them. I've read that some people initially thought this behavior was a sign of illness, but it seems that's not the case. Not all clowns do this, but my little guy has been floating at the surface for most of the four weeks I've had him, with the occasional dip to the ground in the corner where he likes to hang out during the day.
