If all else fails, you could try a weighted lid. Something heavy enough to stay put but still easy to remove for maintenance. Just don't make it too hard to open.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. Gonna try the floating plants and a mesh lid combo. Appreciate the help!

Never had a jumper, but my tanks are all covered. Better safe than sorry, right?
