Considering a change of heart, thinking of closing my saltwater tank and going back to keeping discus.
There's so much conflicting info online about keeping discus in a Juwel Rio 180 aquarium - 101L x 42d x 50H.
What's a safe number for this tank?
I'd be using a Fluval 307 external filter.

I've had experience with Discus in a Juwel Rio 180, started about 5 years ago. In my opinion, 4 is the maximum you can comfortably keep in this tank, but even then, I didn't see the desired growth rate.
Now, I've upgraded to a Rio 450 for my adult Discus, and I use the 180 for growing out juveniles - never more than 2 at a time. This setup works well for me, as the juveniles can eventually be moved to the larger tank.

Assuming your tank measurements are in cm, that's 56 gallons. The general rule is one adult discus per 10 gallons.
