Good plan. Let us know how it goes. Sometimes it just takes a little tweaking to find what works for your fish.

Yeah, keep us posted. And if all else fails, you can always go the divider route like bajil did. Not ideal, but better than stressed fish.

One more thing—check your nitrate levels. High nitrates can make aggression worse. Mine were at 20ppm, and after getting them down to 10ppm, the pair chilled out a lot.
