Betta fish and tank backgrounds

I've used both black and blue backgrounds in my tanks. The black can make colors pop, but some fish do seem to prefer lighter shades. Maybe try a light blue or frosted one to see if your betta chills out more.

I agree with this. My betta was way more active after I switched to a light blue background. It's worth a shot.

It's good to hear others have seen similar results. Consistency in the environment is key for bettas, so once you find what works, stick with it.

Yeah, it's all about trial and error. Bettas are like little divas sometimes, gotta find what makes 'em happy.
