discussing first sw fish

Post by fizzlebee »

Just got my first saltwater fish. I've got a domino damsel, his name's Fred, and a 4 stripe damsel, Barnibus. Will post a pic of them soon.

If you've indeed added these damsels to your 20-gallon tank, I strongly advise you to look into the compatibility of your fish choices. It's generally not recommended to mix damsels, especially in a nano tank - the aggression they display as they mature often leads to injured fish. Even if Fred and Barnibus seem fine for now, their behavior will likely change as they grow, and it's unlikely they'll remain friendly towards each other.

I'd agree with onyzza, as much as you're already attached to Fred and Barnibus. You and your fish won't be happy in the long run. A pair of ocellaris clowns would be a great choice - there are many varieties, and they're beautiful, fairly peaceful fish. I personally love the black and whites.
