Local tropical fish stores
Anyone know a good local fish store in the area that carries rare freshwater species? I'm looking for something beyond the usual Neon Tetras and Guppies, maybe some wild-caught Apistogramma or uncommon Corydoras.

Yo, there's this spot downtown called Aqua Haven. They got some wild stuff, but the prices are kinda steep. Dude who runs it is chill though, knows his fish.

Aqua Haven is decent, but their stock varies. I've had better luck with The Wet Spot out in the suburbs. They specialize in rare South American species and get shipments weekly. Their water quality is consistently good, which is a plus.

Seconding The Wet Spot. Their Apistos are top-notch, and they quarantine everything before selling. Only downside is it's a bit of a drive. Worth it if you're serious about quality.

Has anyone checked out Coral Cove? I heard they expanded their freshwater section, but I haven't been there in months.

Coral Cove's freshwater selection is hit or miss. Last time I went, they had some cool Killifish, but their tanks were overcrowded. Sketchy vibe, but if you're desperate, might find something.

Yeah, I saw that too. Their staff didn't seem too knowledgeable either. Stick to The Wet Spot if you can.

There's a new place called Fin & Scale opening next month. Dunno what they'll have, but the owner used to work at The Wet Spot. Might be worth keeping an eye on.

Fin & Scale? Sounds fancy. Hope they don't charge an arm and a leg like some places. I'm all for supporting local stores, but my wallet's gotta survive too.

Anyone know if The Wet Spot does special orders? I'm after some specific Corydoras species and don't wanna drive out there for nothing.
