Airstones are cool, but you gotta keep the flow low. Too much turbulence and the daphnia can't feed properly. I use a sponge filter with a gentle flow, works like a charm.

I've used both. Airstones are fine if you dial them way down. Personally, I prefer sponge filters for simplicity. Less to go wrong.

Airstones are overkill. Daphnia don't need much oxygen, and the bubbles can stress them. Stick with the sponge filter.
