how to Grow hygrophila
I've been trying to grow Hygrophila in my 20 gallon tank but it's not thriving. My lighting is moderate, substrate is sand, and I dose liquid ferts once a week. What am I missing?

Hygrophila needs strong lighting and consistent nutrients. Your sand substrate might be lacking nutrients. Try root tabs and increase lighting to at least 8 hours a day. Also, check your water params, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and nitrates below 20 ppm.

I agree with peacock9. Hygrophila grows like crazy in my tank with high light and CO2. If you're not running CO2, try Excel or another carbon supplement. It makes a huge difference.

Yo, Hygrophila's a beast if you give it what it wants. Sand's chill but you gotta feed it. Root tabs are a game changer, and don't skimp on the light. Mine's under a Nicrew and it's popping.

I've had success with Hygrophila in low tech setups too. It's slower but doable. Just make sure your ferts are balanced. Too much nitrogen can cause algae, which outcompetes the plants.

My Hygrophila was struggling until I added more fish. The waste seems to help it grow. Maybe try increasing your bioload slightly if your filtration can handle it.

Hygrophila's a light hog. If you're not seeing growth, bump up the lumens. Also, trim it regularly. Cutting it back encourages bushier growth and prevents it from getting leggy.

Consistency is key with Hygrophila. Keep your lighting schedule steady, dose ferts on a routine, and avoid big water parameter swings. It's a hardy plant but likes stability.

I'm new to plants but my Hygrophila's doing okay. I just follow the basics, light, ferts, and clean water. Not sure what else to do but it's growing slowly.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll try adding root tabs and increasing the light. Hopefully that does the trick.
