To be honest, it's a bit tricky for me to tell from the pic, but generally I've noticed that females tend to be a tad smaller and rounder in shape compared to the males. A mate of mine who's been breeding them has mentioned that his males usually have more vibrant markings than the females, so that might be worth looking out for.

Can anyone help me with sexing my jewel cichlids? I've got a couple and I'm trying to figure out if I've got a male and female. Any help would be great, thanks.

Does nobody want to say if these jewel cichlids are a pair or same sex, I've added another photo, hoping someone can help me out.
