Frogs and bottom-dweller compatibility

Post by northstar »

I've got a 20-gallon tank with a few African Dwarf Frogs and some Corydoras. The frogs seem to be hogging all the food. Anyone else dealt with this? Wondering if they're gonna stress out the Cories.

I've had African Dwarf Frogs with Corydoras before. The frogs can be a bit slow to find food, so I usually target feed them with tweezers. Maybe try that to make sure everyone gets their share.

What kind of substrate are you using? If it's too rough, it might bother the Cories' barbels. Sand is usually best for them, and the frogs don't mind it either.

I've seen this issue before. The frogs are opportunistic feeders, so they'll snatch food before the Cories get a chance. Try feeding the Cories first, then drop food specifically for the frogs after.

African Dwarf Frogs and Corydoras can coexist, but you need to manage feeding carefully. Use sinking pellets for the Cories and target feed the frogs with frozen bloodworms. Also, check your water params—ammonia spikes can stress both species.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll try the target feeding and see if that helps. My substrate is sand, so at least that's not an issue.

Yo, I've got the same setup. My frogs are chill but they do steal food sometimes. I just drop extra pellets for the Cories and make sure the frogs get their own snacks. Works fine for me.

Same here, man. Just gotta be patient and watch the feeding. Also, keep an eye on the frogs—they're sneaky little dudes.

I've got a 30-gallon with frogs and Cories. The frogs are hilarious to watch, but yeah, they're food hogs. I feed the Cories at one end of the tank and the frogs at the other. Seems to keep the peace.

I'm new to this, but my frogs and Cories seem fine together. I just make sure to feed them separately. The frogs are so slow, it's kinda funny.
