betta fish and water parameter adjustments

Honestly, bettas are drama queens. Mine sulks for a day after every water change, then bounces back. Just keep an eye on him.

I've heard adding a bit of aquarium salt can help with stress. Anyone tried that?

My betta did this once, turned out the filter flow was too strong. Maybe check if yours is getting blown around?
