about seahorses

Post by luremate »

I'm trying to figure out which seahorse is the hardiest, and I've got three options - erectus, ingens, or kelloggs. Which one would you guys recommend as the best?

What's the size of your tank, just curious.
Oceanixs are notoriously tricky to care for, so be warned.
I'd recommend doing a ton of research on them before taking the plunge.
That being said, I've found Erectus to be pretty hardy and easy to come by.
They do best in pairs, so try to get a pair if you can.

85 gallon tank, done my research and I'm good to go, just looking for a bit of insight on the hardiness of the three species, appreciate the advice though.

I've had decent luck with H. Histrix in the past. They seem to take to canned brine shrimp pretty well and will eat some feeder fish fry every now and then. However, once they're established, they can get quite territorial. I'm not sure what the current laws are on keeping them, though.
