Had a similar scare last year. Turned out the heater was fluctuating, stressing him out. Got a new one with a guard, and his fins grew back nicer than ever.

If you're using meds, skip the carbon in your filter. It'll just pull the meds right out. Learned that the hard way.

My betta's fins got ragged after I added tankmates. Even peaceful ones can stress them. Now he's solo, and his fins are flawless.

Yeah, bettas are better off alone. Less drama, fewer health issues. Just keep the water clean, and they'll thrive.
