Easy Life Easy Carbo ingredients
Anyone know what's actually in Easy Carbo? I've been using it for a while but wanna make sure it's safe for my shrimp tank. Heard mixed things about glutaraldehyde.

From what I've read, Easy Carbo is mostly liquid carbon, which is basically glutaraldehyde. It's fine for plants but can be sketchy for shrimp if you overdose. What's your tank size and dosing routine?

It's a 10 gallon with cherry shrimp and some Anubias. I dose half the recommended amount every other day. Should I cut it back?

Yeah, glutaraldehyde can be harsh on inverts. I'd chill with the dosing or switch to Excel if you're worried. My shrimp tank crashed once from overdoing it, not fun.

Second this. Excel's a bit gentler. Also, how's your filtration? Good flow helps distribute the carbon evenly.

I just stick to Excel, man. Easy Carbo's got a weird vibe with shrimp. Had a few die off when I tried it last year.

For sure. If you're set on Easy Carbo, maybe try dosing once a week and monitor the shrimp. Any changes in behavior or molting issues?

Thanks, everyone. Gonna switch to Excel and see how it goes. Appreciate the advice.
