Peat's messy but effective. Just boil it first or you'll get floaties everywhere. What's your substrate? Sand's better for buffering than gravel. Also, what's your lighting schedule? Stress from bright lights can mess with fry growth.

Buffer talk's over my head, but my fry tank's at 82°F, sponge filter, and I use StressGuard after changes. Fry are alive, so I'm doing something right. Maybe luck.
