This might sound weird, but are the parents first-time breeders? Mine were clueless with their first few spawns, let the fry die, then figured it out by the fourth try. Sometimes it's just a learning curve for them too. Hang in there!

Bruh, fry are like the divas of the fish world. One minute they're chill, next minute they're belly-up. You tried adding a bit of salt? Like 1 tsp per 5 gallons? Helps with stress and gill function. Just don't go overboard or you'll mess with your plants.

Fantom wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 5:02 am Could be a bacterial issue. Even if your params are perfect, fry tanks can develop harmful biofilms. Try wiping down the sides daily with a clean cloth and maybe add a tiny bit of methylene blue as a preventative. Also, how's the flow from the sponge filter? Too strong and it'll tire out the fry.
Biofilms are sneaky killers. If you're not already, use a turkey baster to spot-clean uneaten food and gunk daily. Also, what's your tank's history? If it's new, the biofilm might be extra thick. Older tanks usually have a better balance.

Yo, quick q—you using any meds in the main tank? Even if the parents seem fine, residual meds can mess with fry development. Also, how's the oxygen level? Fry need tons of it, so make sure your sponge filter's bubbling enough.

Parents might be eating the fry. Try separating them after spawning if you're not already. Use a divider or move the eggs to a fry-only tank. Also, check for sudden temp drops at night—heater working right?
