Best dosing pump for reef tank

Post by fumiko »

I'm setting up a 75-gallon reef tank and need a reliable dosing pump. Any recommendations for something precise and durable? I've got a mix of LPS and SPS, so stability is key.

The Kamoer X1 Pro has been solid for me. It's got a wireless app, which makes adjustments easy, and the dosing accuracy is spot on. My acros have never looked better.

I've been using the Neptune Systems DOS for a year now. It's a bit pricey, but it integrates with Apex if you're running that. My montis and zoas are thriving with it.

Anyone tried the Bubble Magus BM-T01? Heard mixed reviews, but it's budget-friendly. My tank's only 40 gallons, so I don't need anything too fancy.

The BM-T01 is decent for smaller tanks, but the tubing wears out fast. I switched to the Reef Octopus Prizm after six months. No regrets.

I'm just starting with dosing. Do I need a pump right away, or can I manually dose for a while? Tank's cycling now, 30 gallons.

You can manually dose, but it's easy to slip up. A pump keeps things consistent, especially with SPS.

The Jebao DP-4 is another option. Cheap and gets the job done. My softies don't seem to mind the occasional hiccup.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'll check out the Kamoer and Neptune Systems. Appreciate the help!

I've had bad luck with Jebao. The DP-4 failed after three months. Switched to a GHL and it's been flawless.
