My betta had fin rot last month, and I freaked out. Did the salt thing and more water changes, and he's all good now. Just takes patience.

Make sure the salt you're using is pure aquarium salt, not table salt. Table salt's got additives that can harm your fish.

Fin rot's often a sign of stress. Double-check your tank setup. Any sharp decor? Other fish bothering him? Sometimes it's not just the water.

I'd skip the salt if you're using leaves. Too many treatments at once can stress him more. Pick one and stick with it.
